During her early candidature, Rhiannon competed in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Three Minute Thesis competition, where she was awarded the People’s Choice Award and Runner-Up, leading to an invitation to speak on Indigenous education at a UQ Alumni panel. She has received competitive scholarships and sponsorship to support her research and professional development, including funding to attend WIPCE in 2025 and undertake the Professional Certificate in Indigenous Research at the University of Melbourne.
Rhiannon is committed to improving educational outcomes for her mob through research grounded in Country, relationality, and sovereignty.
