Celebrating Teaching Excellence in Indigenous Education

We extend our congratulations to IFC Researcher  Prof. Tracey Bunda and her UQ colleauge A/Prof. Katelyn Barney for being awarded the UQ Award for Teaching Excellence.

Their innovative co-teaching approach exemplifies how meaningful relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people can flourish.

The award citation highlights two key areas of their work: first, inspiring undergraduate students in Indigenous studies to explore their identities and cultures through storytelling; and second, encouraging colleagues locally, nationally, and internationally to integrate Indigenous perspectives into their curricula and collaborate respectfully.

Tracey and Katelyn's partnership showcases the transformative power of Indigenous and non-Indigenous collaboration in education. We are proud to be part of such an exceptional academic team at The University of Queensland, committed to fostering inclusive and reflective learning environments.
