The ARC Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Futures has launched its brand ahead of the official Centre launch in September, 2024.
The brand identity, created by Cause/Affect, led by Waanyi and Kalkadoon woman Keisha Leon, tells the story of the Centre’s new approach to research.
“The brand we created represents the Indigenous Futures Centre changing the shape of research with a collaborative and collective approach,” she said.
“This is opening the lens over the whole social sector to get a look at the bigger picture. It’s led by the community for the community, to create self-determined and impactful futures.”
Centre Director Professor Brendan Hokowhitu said the design was ideal for an Indigenous-led Centre which wants to not only stand out but set new precedence in research.
“We wanted a brand that moved away from traditional University styles”, he said.
“The logo itself is also recognizable, as well as representing our journey as a Centre towards a collaborative approach to a better way forward.
“I’m looking forward to seeing this become more recognizable along with Centre over the next seven years.”
